Elementary STEM Program
An Elementary STEM Curriculum Your Students Can Fly
Rocket Drones gives your school a complete STEM program for elementary students: classroom drone kits, curriculum, and simulator games built for 3rd grade and up. No prior experience required.
A STEM Program That Fits Your School Day and Beyond
Run it in your STEM lab, tie it into math, science, and history lessons, or make it the highlight of your after school STEM programs and summer camps. Rocket Drones works in special education classrooms too. Wherever you use it, young students get hands-on practice with problem solving, critical thinking, and real flight skills.
Rover Classroom Drone Kit | Foundational | 1–30 Students
STEM Kits for Elementary Classrooms
Six drones, one kit, and a whole class ready to fly. Industry professionals designed the Rover Classroom Drone Kit as an all-in-one way to bring drones into a traditional classroom, and students as young as 3rd grade can take the controls. Small groups share a drone, take turns as pilot, and start logging flight hours right away.
- Six classroom drones, enough for a class of 30 in groups of five
- 30 batteries and six chargers, so flight time never stalls
- Six inflatable obstacle shapes for building classroom courses
- Step-by-step how-to-fly lessons and a practice simulator
- Classroom leaderboards, flight challenges, and a flight log for every student
- Portal access that never expires
Fun STEM Activities and Games for Elementary Students
The Drone Web Simulator turns flight training into play, with ready-made STEM activities for your 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade classes. It runs on Chromebooks, and students can fly with a keyboard, a drone controller, or most USB controllers.
Missions
Students practice real drone jobs like Drone Delivery and Search & Rescue, then test their skills in Dynamic Landing, Dynamic Obstacles, and the Sensor Challenge.
Games
Completed missions unlock games like Balloon Pop, Drone Limbo, Musical Drones, Basketball Shootout, Drone Relay, Drone Pong, and Drone Fishing.
Design Your Drone Course
Students build their own course, fly it, and challenge classmates to beat their time.
Flight hours are logged automatically as students play.
Coming Soon: Rocket Nodes
Keep score using sensors with a whole new series of drone games, including drone quiz mode, real-time leaderboards, and automatic flight hour logging.
Lessons That Explain the Science Behind Every Flight
Flying is the hook. The Intro to Drones Curriculum is where the learning sticks. Students discover how drones get off the ground, the jobs drones do in the real world, and the safety rules pilots follow. Plan on a semester of 45-minute sessions twice a week, with state standards crosswalks ready for your lesson plans.
STEM Competitions for Elementary Students
Bring year-round excitement to your classroom with nonstop competitions. Your students can take part in Drone Aviation League virtual and in-person events, track progress on drone game leaderboards, and take on monthly drone races and course design contests.
Career Exploration for Elementary Students Starts Here
Every flight is logged in the Rocket Drones portal, so the hours your students earn in elementary school follow them forward. In middle school, they can move into FPV drone racing. In high school, they can earn their FAA Part 107 certification and graduate ready for a drone career.

Your Teachers Don’t Need to Be Pilots
Most elementary teachers have never flown a drone, and that’s fine. Rocket Drones was started by working drone professionals, and a classroom teacher with nearly two decades in hands-on STEM shapes our curriculum. Every lesson is laid out so your staff can teach with confidence from the first day.
- Zero drone experience needed to get started
- Flying and troubleshooting guides inside the portal
- Crosswalks that map the curriculum to state standards
- Virtual support and professional development with no limits
- Lifetime access to the portal when you buy a kit

Frequently Asked Questions
What grade can students start flying?
3rd grade. The Rover Classroom Drone Kit, Intro to Drones Curriculum, and Drone Web Simulator are all built for grades 3–12.
What if our teachers have never flown a drone?
The portal has them covered. It walks teachers through flying and troubleshooting step by step, and our team offers unlimited virtual support and professional development.
Is one kit enough for a full class?
Yes. One kit has six drones and serves up to 30 students. Fly them one student at a time or split the class into groups of up to five.
How long do the batteries last?
Each battery gives you 8 to 10 minutes of flight. With 30 batteries and six six-port chargers in every kit, your class can keep rotating through fresh ones.
Will the simulator work on our Chromebooks?
Yes. The Drone Web Simulator runs in a web browser, so Chromebooks work and no computer lab is needed.
Can we use Rocket Drones for after school STEM programs?
Yes. Schools run Rocket Drones in after school programs and summer camps as well as during the school day.
What does it cost after the first year?
Your hardware and portal access are yours for good. Curriculum and simulator licenses cover up to 100 users for one year, and each renews for $1,500 per year.
